The Dref are a species which fought against the Terran Federation for control over the Roma Cluster.
The Terran Federation first encountered the Dref after the colonization of several planets in the Roma Cluster. The Dref military declared that the Roma Cluster was an ancestral claim and demanded the eviction of the colonists. When the Senate refused resettlement, the Dref had begun to attack the colonies. The Blitz ended with a counter strike on a base on the planetoid of Veltok, in which many on both sides died. The Consul soon drafted the Treaty of Gothis, which decreed that the Roma Cluster was not ancestral territory and ceded it to the Terran Federation, established it as their border. Relations remained strained, but no where are they near war.
