The Eyren are an all-female species from the planet Eyren.
In the early 21st century, the Eyren began to suffer from a genetic disease in the male population of the planet. The disease resulted in the sterility of males across the planet, which the Eyren believed would lead them to extinction. However, one scientist named Dr. Ardat discovered a method known as binary cloning, which allowed future generations to be created.
Following contact with the Terran Federation in 2189, Eyren citizens became active members of the Terran Federation government. In 2289, it was discovered that Humans and Eyren were genetically compatible enough to have children. The first Human-Eyren hybrid was "born" on the colony of Beta Durani.
